Just a bunch of stuff

“As violent weather settled in again on the G.T.A. [greater Toronto area], residents in Markham were stunned to see what appeared to be a funnel cloud in the skies over their neighbourhood. Environment Canada had issued a severe thunderstorm watch for a wide area, including Toronto, York, Durham, Peel, Halton, and on into cottage country.
…’It is confirmed that it is a funnel cloud,’ relates Sarah Wong of Environment Canada. ‘What is not confirmed if it actually touched the ground. And if it does touch the ground, it would be a tornado over Markham. So far we have not heard reports of damage in that area. And looking at the pictures, that funnel cloud was presiding over a…newly developed area in Markham and hopefully did not touch the ground and produce any damage in that area.’ ” Scary!
Is it just my eyes or does Jay-Z look kinda hot here?
Speaking of the Roc, is this necessary? (Diana from American Idol)

CNTM may be a hot mess but I hope the contestants don’t end up like Niema (ANTM)
Now that Mary J. Blige finally got rid of that damn braid, it looks like the Olsen twin decided to resurrect it!

A Night of Debauchery
This past weekend, the girls and I decided to give this whole strip club thing another try. I was a little bit wary considering my first trip to the smut bar was a bit of a disaster and just plain nasty. But judging by the flyer, America’s Most Wanted looked like a show to see. There is no nudity but CLICK HERE at your own discretion to see the dancers.
There definately weren’t any flabby, “old men in the club” trying to be strippers to regain their youth here. WOOO WEEEEE!!! The first few dancers definately put on a show. They brought a couple girls on the stage, flipped them around and did some crazy “acrobatics.” I didn’t participate in any of the extras (lap dances, VIP room) because I don’t pay to be frustrated. I had a good ol’ time just watching them do their thing. I wasn’t hiding in the back as I had planned to at first but I wasn’t all up in the front row either. I was somewhere in the middle because I was still scared of getting penis in my eye.
We were getting into the groove, me and the girls were all singing “I’m in love with a stripper” by this point. Until they brought out the final act. This man came out in this shiny dress thingy and he was so small and skinny (except for one part…) My mind started to wander at this point. I was looking for my favourite who was working the room when I happened to glance back at the stage just in time to see Mr. Man do this drop kick! Kind of reminded me of THIS, except he was standing. After he started doing some interpretive dance and “aswirls” to one too many Prince songs, I was starting to wonder if he was catering to the wrong crowd…
There were still some girls who didn’t care that his performance was a little um…”crooked” but the crowd was a bit more subdued than when the others were performing. My favourite dancer was being mobbed by a bunch of girls in the audience and he actually looked a bit scared! Girls in male strip clubs are crazy! Men would NEVER be allowed to carry on like that in female strip clubs. I don’t blame him for being a bit scared. I saw him say “Phew!” when the girls finally gave him some breathing room.
All in all, it was very entertaining. It was lusty without being too sleazy. I didn’t leave feeling greasy and dirty. I knew the adult entertainment industry had more to offer than that poor excuse for a show that I went to the first time. It’s not something that I would want to do on a regular basis but if they came to Toronto for another show, ya might see me there
(singing) I’m in love with a stripper….
CNTM : Highlights
My regular and only source for the YouTube videos of CNTM hasn’t uploaded the videos for episode 4. I think YouTube has some new rule about uploading copyright material, so without those videos, no screenshots! So instead of an entire recap, here are some highlights and thoughts.
Once again Sisi is getting on my nerves. They had a personal trainer put them through an intense workout and Sisi claimed she was sick and had to stop. Later, when they were having a one on one with him, she revealed that she wasn’t really sick. When he asked her why she told him, she said she just wanted to be honest. OK. What happpened to that BS you were spewing last week about a model should be professional, even if she’s sick?
I read some of her blog comments and I think one poster said it best:
“Sisi, you need to tone down the attitude asap. You give off this superior attitude that you are better then everyone and that is not a desirable trait. There is a way to be confident without being a biatch. Even when the judges talk to you, you look at them as though you could care less.”
Often times when a woman is confident and strong, she gets mistaken for being a “bitch.” I think that is what Sisi is trying to convey but she’s just coming off snarky and arrogant. Another issue I see here is that many reality shows follow a certain formula when casting their shows. Sometimes when I watch the show, I feel as if they are trying so hard to typecast Tenika as “the Black bitch,” and to me, she just isn’t.
Tenika does have her moments, she did go into confessional to say that she thinks Brandi is a snake and she was talking about Sisi with the other girls during this episode. However, I feel that Tenika’s attitude towards Sisi is warranted because if Sisi is going to give attidute, then she’s going to get attitude. In a behind the scenes video on the CNTM website, Tenika and Sisi are having a conversation about runway walking and Sisi interrupts her to tell her that she talks too loud. As she smiles and says sorry, she continues to tell Tenika that she’s such a tomboy and looks uncomfortable in a dress. Whatever Sisi.
Anyway, Sisi’s groupies on her blog seemed to be clouded by their “Asian Pride.” I think there is definately some racial tension here which is unfortunate. Some commenters on Sisi’s page would say that there’s nothing wrong with being a bitch but then the groupies go over to Tenika’s blog and tell her what a bitch she is and that she’s mean to Sisi. OK…I thought it was okay to be a bitch. One commenter even went so far as to say that Tenika has “baboon hands..lips are too big..and they don’t like her hair.” If that don’t sound like some racist shit, I don’t know what is.
In a way, I kind of feel like I shouldn’t be picking on Sisi so much since I am Asian myself but at the same time, I just call it how I see it. According to next week’s preview, Tenika is finally going to let Sisi have it. I hope this doesn’t get edited into a “Black Bitch vs. Quirky Asian.”
Anyway, that’s my 2 cents about that. Onto the photoshoot. This week’s was much better. They posed in lingerie with a sexy male model. They were also asked to pose topless which made a few girls uncomfortable but everyone participated. This week’s shots didn’t look like one of my crappy screenshots for a change and everybody looked good! Even bland Alanna has some spice this week. I guess all it took was a sexy man to turn these girls out! There were supposed to be two photos of each girl, one with their tops and one without. For some some reason, Brandi and Tenika only had one photo on the website….
My cold heart felt a little warmer today
One of the things I enjoy about living in a city is the anonymity. Some people may like the neighborly hellos or chit chats in the line up at the supermarket. Not me. I grew up in a small-ish town and hated it since I was 5 years old. I don’t like it when strangers decide to talk to me about some idle small talk like, “Isn’t the weather just beautiful today?” Or like the time I was a wearing a purple top and some random lady said to me, “My! Don’t you look purply today?” I didn’t really know how to answer. Was that a question? Compliment? Anyway…
I take the same bus every Monday through Friday, same time and almost always sit in the same seat. I’ve noticed a few people that are regulars as well but I guess it never occured to me that if I recognize them that they would recognize me as well.
It’s takes me almost an hour to get to school so I usually doze off for a bit during the long bus ride. I must have been extra tired today because I was still dozing when we reached my stop. I guess one of the “regulars” saw that I was still snoring away and he nudged me awake to let me know we were at my stop. I was a bit flustered and embarassed but I thought that was nice of him. (I hope I wasn’t drooling!) Especially since my instructor has this rule that if we are late for class, we have to bring beer or coffee on the last day of class for everybody!
I ended up getting to class 10 minutes early thanks to an observant regular
Speaking of school… look what I made with Photoshop! (I’m doing a summer webdesign program)
